The Well of Loneliness, by Radclyffe Hall Originally published in 1928, this is the timeless story of a lesbian couple’s struggle to be accepted by “polite” society. Shockingly candid for its time, this novel was the very first to condemn homophobic society for its unfair treatment of gays and lesbians.

    Wilderness in National Parks casts light on the complicated relationship between the National Park Service and its dual policy goals of wilderness preservation and recreation. The Service is charged with management of the most wilderness acreage of any government agency in the world but it has frequently favored development over preservation.  John C.
