Kids' Author Event and Children's Poster Contest Awards Village Books is excited to announce that Royce Buckingham will be presenting our 2010 Village Books Poster Contest Winner Awards at the beginning of his author event.  Join us and celebrate some of our community’s creative kids and their art, and then celebrate the paperback release of Royce's book, Goblins!: An Underneath Adventure.  Featuring the high adventure and slapstick humor that made Demonkeeper a fantasy favorite, Goblins! is a subterranean romp that will keep readers laughing as they race through the pages to see what happens next.  Join us for this fun, multi-media event to cap off Children's Book Week.
Start: 2:00 pm
Regrettably, author Pam Flowers has sustained a serious injury and will not be able to join us for this  much anticipated event.  Thank you for your understanding.

INCLUDES SLIDE SHOW! This comprehensive guide offers a genre-specific approach focusing on the greatest challenges facing the landscape painter: simplification and massing, selection and composition, and color and light.  The book is illustrated with over 40 contemporary and classic paintings, plus diagrams, photographs, and step-by-step demonstrations.  Beautifully written, practical, and inspirational, it is a serious companion for anyone getting started in the genre, as well as instructors or more experienced painters who want to explore new approaches. Mitchell Albala teaches landscape painting at Gage Academy in Seattle. A respected teaching artist for more than 25 years, he has also lectured at the Seattle Art Museum and written for American Artist. He hosts an educational website and is represented by Lisa Harris Gallery in Seattle.
