Their company is Simple Help in a Box. Growing up in a family of nine children in Ames, Iowa, Marla and Clare got an early start learning the ins and outs of negotiation and conflict resolution. Clare Sprowell A graduate of the University of Colorado School of Law, Clare practiced family law and mediation prior to developing Mediator in a Box.™ She received her undergraduate degree in nursing and a teaching certificate in elementary education from the University of Iowa. Long married and mother of three, she lives in Fort Collins, Colorado. Marla Sloan Initially trained as a Registered Nurse at the University of British Columbia, Marla has been involved with alternative dispute resolution through her husband's work in mediation and conflict resolution training since 1985. She has assisted him as a mediation coach, as well as raising four children together using the principles and process of mediation. They live in Victoria, BC.
