Celebrating Christmas and the release of his new four-CD collection, this December the Mt. Baker Theatre brings "Canada's favorite storyteller," Stuart McLean, as he takes the Vinyl Cafe Christmas Show on tour. The concert will include two brand new Dave & Morley stories as well as Christmas music performed by "the Vinylettes" and Vancouver singer-songwriter Reid Jamieson. McLean's hit radio show the Vinyl Cafe is now heard by 1.3 million people each week, broadcast in Canada, the USA, and around the world on Sirius Satellite Radio and podcasts. In January, Apple named the Vinyl Cafe the best audio podcast in their "Best of the Year" awards. McLean has sold more than 1 million books in Canada. Three have received the Stephen Leacock Award for humor and one was chosen as the best short story collection of the year by the Canadian Author's Association. This fall he is celebrating the release of his tenth book of a new collection of Dave & Morley stories: Revenge of the Vinyl Cafe. In addition to McLean's popular Dave & Morley stories, the Vinyl Cafe features live and recorded music by both up-and-coming and established Canadian musicians. Increasingly, it is becoming a place where Canadians go to find new, undiscovered talent. Find out more about Stuart McLean at the Vinyl Cafe website. To order tickets for this event, visit the Mt. Baker Theatre, or call the box office at 360-734-6080. Tickets are $50 for general admission and $35 for students. Village Books will be selling copies of Stuart McLean's books at the event.
