A special SeaFeast Fisher Poets presentation!
The Glass Jar, spawned from 15 years of commercial fishing, offers an unflinching look at being a woman and fisherman. It requires fending off drunks, infidels, farmed fish, corporate greed and precarious dreams, and ultimately embraces the bittersweet complexity of a lifestyle lived at the edge of the wild.
Erin Fristad is of the Northwest: she is the spawn of loggers, miners and commercial fishermen. She survived 15 years working as a professional deckhand on fishing and research vessels in the waters spanning the Columbia River to Togiak, Alaska. The Glass Jar, published by Finishing Line Press, is her first collection of poems. Erin lives in Washington State and works as a writer, educator, facilitator, and most recently, itinerant farmhand.
