Kirby Larson is the acclaimed author of the 2007 Newbery Honor Book, Hattie Big Sky as well as the award-winning picture book, The Magic Kerchief and Two Bobbies: A True Story of Hurricane Katrina, Friendship and Survival. Her latest book, The Fences Between Us, was the first book in the re-launch of the beloved Dear America series. A frequent speaker, Kirby has presented at more than 200 schools, workshops, and seminars. Kirby lives in Kenmore, Washington with her husband. When she's not reading, writing, or teaching, Kirby enjoys gardening, bird watching, traveling, or drinking lattes with friends.
