Mark Twain Comes to Fairhaven
When local playwright and historian Joseph Lenz wrote his “musical tall tale” Mark Twain in Fairhaven, he probably never guessed it would be 10 years before it would actually be performed in its namesake locality. For three weekends in August the Firehouse Performing Arts Center will host the play, which is loosely based on Twain's visit to Fairhaven in 1895.
Mark Twain in Fairhaven will perform Thursdays – Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. on August 23rd ~ 26th.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students and seniors (62 and older) and will be available at Village Books and online at Brown Paper Tickets.
Hear Mark Twain talk about the play by listening to the audio clip below.
The Firehouse Performing Arts Center is located at 1314 Harris Avenue.
