Join us in the Readings Gallery this holiday season as we host a special guest in the store, Einstein, the smallest stallion. Einstein will be "signing" copies of his book, A Friend for Einstein the Smallest Stallion, and will be joined by his owners Charlie Cantrell and Rachel Wagner. This fun event will appeal to children, families, and animal-lovers, and Einstein's children's book makes a perfect holiday gift. We hope to see you there!
About A Friend for Einstein the Smallest Stallion:
Einstein, the smallest stallion, was born to two miniature horses. He came into the world weighing less than a cat and standing no taller than a cereal box. His hooves were the size of quarters. His fuzzy white mane earned him his name. Despite being tiny, Einstein is a horse like any other. He loves to gallop and hop, graze and trot, and lie in the warm sun. As much as he would like to run and play with the other miniature horses, he just isn’t the right size. What's a little fellow to do?
In glorious photographs of the miraculous colt, we see Einstein search for, and find, the perfect playmate. A Friend For Einstein the Smallest Stallion is based on his true story of animal friendship and brings joy to nature-lovers of all ages and sizes.
Einstein was born on April 22, 2010 in Barnstead New Hampshire. He weighed six pounds and stood fourteen inches tall. He is the smallest horse ever born on record. Charlie Cantrell & Dr. Rachel Wagner met Einstein the morning he was born when he was six hours old. It was love at first sight and Charlie purchased Einstein as a gift for Rachel from their friend and Einstein's breeder Judy Smith that morning. Within days, Einstein became a media super star gracing the covers of hundreds of newspapers and magazines across the globe. Einstein, along with his owners has appeared on Oprah, The View, Good Morning America, The Today Show, The Early Show, Animal Planet, National Geographic TV, ITV, BBC, CBC, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN FOX, as well as scores of TV shows and networks worldwide. Einstein divides his time between his homes in New Hampshire and Bellingham. Visit Einstein's website for more information and photos.
