Pick-Up Dogs is an adventure road trip book about the healing powers of dogs and our relationship with nature. By looking into how we find meaning in life by living with other creatures, it shows how animals can help teach us to relate with the world.

In addition to being an animal and nature lover, Kendall Whitney has been a professor, a therapy dog handler, a translator, a mannequin dresser, a telemarketer, a door-to-door salesman, a nurse’s aid, a street canvasser, a dishwasher and a chef. After stints in San Francisco, Brazil, Spain, Costa Rica, Ireland, Vermont and Kansas, he now lives in Bellingham.

This event is co-sponsored by the Whatcom Humane Society. You can visit their website at www.whatcomhumane.org.
