Larry Karp practiced perinatal medicine and medical genetics for 25 years. He served as Medical Director of the Reproductive Genetics Lab at Seattle's Swedish Medical Center, and delivered the first baby in the Pacific Northwest conceived through in vitro fertilization. Karp has written seven well-received mystery novels and three nonfiction books, and many magazine articles on a wide range of subjects. Larry's books reflect his interest in medical-ethical issues, musical antiques, and the history of ragtime music. He lives with his wife Myra in Seattle.
