Greasewood Creek, set in the ranchlands of northeast Oregon, is the story of a young woman's path from the childhood tragedy for which she feels responsible, to equally painful losses of adulthood. Out of this harsh landscape come those who will become the family that helps her find redemption.
Pamela Steele earned an MFA in Writing from Spalding University. She has been the recipient of Jentel Arts and Fishtrap fellowships. Her poetry collection, Paper Bird, was published by Wordcraft of Oregon in 2007. Greasewood Creek, her first novel, was written in a year-long novel workshop under the mentorship of Jane Vandenburgh.
