In the historic distric of Fairhaven, on the Village Green from 1-5pm join the Bellingham Steampunk Society and Village Books for a day of music, vendors, author readings, food and fun. The Bellingham Circus Guild will be performing, and the Fairhaven Outdoor Cinema will end the evening with the cinema feature, Hugo. Proceeds to this event will benefit the Caleb Kors Scholarship Fund.

1pm, Nick James, Skyship Academy: The Pearl Wars
Bellingham author Nick James will talk about the history of skyships in books, movies and entertainment, which are inspirations for writing his young adult fantasy series. Skyship Academy is the story of a fifteen-year-old slacker who discovers that he has the power to control Pearls, fragments of space debris that are Earth's most important energy source in the year 2095.
Nick James graduated from Western Washington University and currently lives and writes in Bellingham. His second book in the Skyship Academy series, Crimson Rising releases in September.
2pm, Karina Cooper, Tarnished
A choking fog blankets Victorian London—and in a stroke of discriminatory genius, Society has raised London to the sky. Karina Cooper will talk about her new Steampunk-flavored book, Tarnished, from the St. Croix Chronicles.
Karina Cooper writes dark and sexy paranormal romance and historical urban fantasy. She is the author of the gritty Dark Mission series. When she isn't writing, Karina is an airship captain's wife and Steampunk fashionista. She lives in Bellingham.
3pm, Kris Saknussemm, Zanesville & Enigmatic Pilot
Focusing on his two books, Zanesville and Enigmatic Pilot, Kris Saknussemm will discuss the special challenges authors face in developing a mythology to support a series or cycle of books, which may in fact take many years to fully complete.
Kris Saknussemm is the author of Reverend America, Enigmatic Pilot, and Zanesville. He has won numerous awards and was a Fellow at the MacDowell Colony and an Alumni Reader at the Squaw Valley Community of Writers.
