Presenter: Dr. Lauren G. McClanahan, Professor of Secondary Education in the Woodring College of Education
Topic: "First Person Singular: Students' First Person Accounts of how Climate Change is Affecting Their Lives"

Through words and photographs, see how the lives of teens from ecologically sensitive parts of the world are affected by our changing climate. This presentation includes a series of short films produced by students in Alaska, Vermont, and Mongolia.

Dr. Lauren G. McClanahan is Professor of Secondary Education in the Woodring College of Education, Western Washington University. A former middle school English teacher, Dr. McClanahan has found a way to fuse her loves of literacy and photography to illustrate how our changing climate is affecting teens in ecologically sensitive areas. She is especially interested in how teens can use technology to amplify their voices when speaking out about topics that are important to them.
