Village Books and WCC Community and Continuing Education have established a writing instruction collaboration called Chuckanut Writers. Writing classes, seminars, and conferences will inspire and encourage writers at all stages of their writing journey.

Ecopoetry is nature poetry updated for the age of climate change and mass extinction. Informed by the urgency of the moment, it uses poetry as a vehicle for moving beyond a human-centered worldview. We'll look at a wide range of relevant poems and will work with writing exercises to explore the wildness and rhythms of the natural world and our place in it. Kevin Murphy is "poet-in-residence" for the Chuckanut Radio Hour and a 2017 winner of a Bellingham Mayor's Arts Award.

Instructor: Kevin Murphy. Class meets Saturdays, Oct. 17-24 from 10am-12pm, and is $59; click to register. To see the full listing of current Chuckanut Writers classes, click here
