Village Books and WCC Community and Continuing Education have established a writing instruction collaboration called Chuckanut Writers. Writing classes, seminars, and conferences will inspire and encourage writers at all stages of their writing journey.
No matter how long you've procrastinated or how many times you've tried to write your memoir, this class will give you the tools you need to get it done. Start Whatcom Memoir Writing Month learning why "anyone would want to read your story, anyway." Then, discover the top three roadblocks most memoir writers face and the four essential (and simple) practices you need to exercise in order to complete your memoir. Leave class with a plan that will carry you through the rest of your writing life. Cami Ostman is the founder of The Narrative Project, author of Second Wind: One Woman's Midlife Quest to Run Seven Marathons on Seven Continents, Beyond Belief: The Secret Lives of Women in Extreme Religions, co-author of 26.2 Life Lessons: Helping You Keep Pace with the Marathon of Life, and editor of several anthologies.
Instructor: Cami Ostman. Class meets Thursday, Sept. 15 from 5-6:30pm, and is $29; click to register to attend IN PERSON.
