Village Books and WCC Community and Continuing Education have established a writing instruction collaboration called Chuckanut Writers. Writing classes, seminars, and conferences will inspire and encourage writers at all stages of their writing journey.

Bestselling and first-time authors alike must read their work to the public because presentations sell books. In this workshop, you will learn to create, prepare, and present successful public readings. Discover how to work with audience members (both good and grumpy) and overcome the dreaded fear of public speaking. Following classroom discussions, students will present to the group with encouragement and feedback from instructor Jes Stone. Jes enjoyed a 30-year teaching career and is a published author and sought-after public speaker. Bring a sack lunch.

Instructor: Jes Stone. Class meets May 20 from 10am-2pm, and is $59; click to register. To see the full listing of current Chuckanut Writers classes, click here.
