Georganne Chapin's memoir exposes the business of medical circumcision, a common but harmful and unnecessary surgery inflicted by U.S. doctors on nearly 1.5 million baby boys every year. The surgery results in lifelong adverse consequences. Chapin reveals circumcision's roots in superstition, bad science and profit-driven medical practices, urging awareness and action.

Georganne Chapin, healthcare expert, attorney, and social justice advocate, is the founding executive director of Intact America. She holds degrees from Barnard College, Columbia University, and Pace University School of Law, and—through the nonprofit Intact America—leads works to protect boys (just as girls are protected) from unnecessary genital surgery, advocating for their right to bodily autonomy and informed consent. Georganne resides in New York's Hudson Valley, and has longtime ties to Bellingham, as her son graduated from Fairhaven College and her sister Julia Bozzo founded and operates Northwest Therapeutic Riding Center on Kelly Road.
