We're so excited to welcome Washington State Poet Laureate Rena Priest for the launch of her latest book!  Join us in the Readings Gallery for another great event in the Nature of Writing series, a partnership between Village Books and the North Cascades Institute. Rena will be joined by the illustrator of the book, Jake Stoumbos!

Entertaining, educational and highly giftable, Northwest Know-How: Beaches showcases more than 30 coastal and island beaches in Washington and Oregon, providing tips for visiting, fun facts, natural history, poetry, and lore. Sure to delight locals and visitors alike, this makes the perfect gift and guide for beach-lovers and nature enthusiasts.

Rena Priest is a local author and member of the Lummi Nation. She currently serves as Washington State Poet Laureate and the 2022 Maxine Cushing Gray Distinguished Writing Fellow. Priest’s nonfiction has appeared in High Country News, YES! Magazine, Seattle Met, and elsewhere.  She holds an MFA from Sarah Lawrence College.
