These poems represent a journey through the natural world as the author has experienced it, from her island home on Vashon in the Pacific Northwest to Sulalwesi Island in Indonesia. These places are fragile ecosystems, an endless knot as one poem describes, unraveling hour by hour all over the earth because of human activities.

Sandra Noel works as a free-lance illustrator, graphic designer and interpretive writer developing award-winning environmental education posters, brochures, exhibits and interpretive signs. She also contributes her artistic design skills as a volunteer for Alliance for Tompotika, a non-profit conservation organization working in Sulawesi, Indonesia. Her poems have appeared in In the Mist, Paradigm, Barnwood International Poetry Magazine, Protest Poems, Buddhist Poetry Review, Outside In Literary and Travel Magazine and Elohi Gadugi Journal. including a previous chapbook, The Gypsy in my Kitchen, Finishing Line Press.
