Join us in the Readings Gallery as we welcome author, Annette Balcom, whose new book is fairly flying off the shelves here! Not only will you meet the author, you will meet the charming Creep who will be passing out bookmarks to the children.
“I’m the Creep! I’m the Creep!” squeaked the small, furry creature. “I came here from Creepsville to help out a teacher. Her name is Miss Potts and she’s in big trouble. I heard of her problem and came on the double!” And so begins The Creep’s adventure as he proceeds to help Miss Pott’s creepy class learn that being nice matters. With his strange little “bleep” The Creep turns
the students into crocodiles. Their crocodile tears flood the room as the children realize that being a creep is no fun at all.
Annette has been writing jingles and rhymes since she was a very young girl. She delights in engaging with the whimsical playfulness of our language. Amidst the rhythm of her writing is the message that Nice Matters. For several years, Annette was a Reading Coach for the Superkids Reading Program. She also had the opportunity to work on early projects for The American Girls Collection. She is a retired educator and spent 23 of those years working as a reading specialist. Annette lives happily in Bellingham, Washington with her husband, Randy.
