With masterful craft and a firecracker wit, Susan J. Erickson’s Lauren Bacall Shares a Limousine explores the lives of women across centuries and continents. Employing narrators that range from Lady Godiva and Lucy Audubon to Janis Joplin and Marilyn Monroe, the poems in this collection give voice to women both well known and obscured by history. These poems give voice to the critical moments of women’s lives and dramatize the silence that many women still face today. Former Washington State Poet Laureate Kathleen Flenniken, has called the collection an “irresistible and overflowing fountain of witty, sparkling and sensitive poems.”

An added bonus: Erickson will be gifting one of her original collages (see examples here) with each purchase of Lauren Bacall Shares a Limousine on the night of her event!

Susan J. Erickson’s first full-length collection of poems, Lauren Bacall Shares a Limousine, recently won the Brick Road Poetry Prize. Susan lives in Bellingham, Washington, where she helped establish the Sue C. Boynton Poetry Walk and Contest. Her poems appear in Crab Creek Review, The James Franco Review, The Fourth River and The Tishman Review.
