Wayne Bernhardson, author of Moon Handbooks Patagonia, will discuss travel to and through southernmost South America. In addition to covering the capital cities of Buenos Aires and Santiago, the gateway cities to Patagonia, he will offer a visual tour of the Chilean and Argentine lakes district, Argentina's wildlife rich coastline and Chile's forested fjords, the magnificent Andean peaks of the Fitz Roy range and Torres del Paine, and the uttermost part of the Earth in Tierra del Fuego. He will also add the Falkland Islands, with their abundant sub-Antarctic wildlife.
Wayne Bernhardson has devoted himself to writing guidebooks on the "Southern Cone" countries of Argentina and Chile, as well as Uruguay and the Falkland Islands, for more than two decades. He has a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of California at Berkeley, and lives in Oakland, California with his Argentine wife. He also owns an apartment in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires.
